PT Test
The physical fitness test ensures you have the strength, endurance, and agility needed to perform the demanding tasks of police work. Our officers face physical challenges daily, and this step confirms you’re ready to meet them head-on.
Background Check
A thorough background check will verify your history, character, and qualifications. We’re looking for individuals who have consistently demonstrated responsibility, respect for the law, and a dedication to service, both in and out of uniform.
Psychological Exam
This evaluation ensures you possess the mental resilience, emotional stability, and sound judgment required to thrive under pressure. Protecting the community demands sharp minds and steady hearts, and this exam ensures you’re ready for both.
Polygraph Exam
The polygraph exam is a critical step in upholding the integrity of our department. It confirms your honesty, accountability, and commitment to ethical standards, values that are the cornerstone of trust between officers and the community.
Conditional Offer
Upon successfully passing the previous phases, you may receive a conditional offer of employment. This offer signals that you’re on the brink of officially joining our team, pending the successful completion of all final requirements.
Start Date
After meeting all conditions, you’ll be given your official start date, marking the beginning of your journey with the La Vergne Police Department. From here, you’ll train, grow, and become part of a tradition dedicated to honor, service, and leadership.
